Leominster Teacher Fired for Challenging State Policy Requiring Lying to Parents

By Scott Smyers

In the spring of 2023, a public school teacher in Leominster was fired for refusing to lie to a students’ parents about their child’s gender transition. This deception is required by the school AND backed up by the Safe Schools Program of the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE). The loophole is that the administrators can presume the parents will bully the student to justify deceiving them. Because these policies come from the DESE, we know they are in ABRSD and every public school in MA.

For more details, please see the article from MA Family Institute, which includes a video of the teacher explaining this to the Leominster School Committee.
